       In the Junior Division, Green Gardens Phantoms player the Floral Park Motor Lodge Americans.  This was and exciting game with the Phantoms leading 10-8 at the end of the second period.

       For the Americans, Alex Korol had two goals, Timmy McQuade two and Bryan Collins netted four.

       For the Phantoms, Ryan Oswald had four, Mike Watts five, and Henry Hughes added one.

       The Phantoms extended their lead in the third period on a blast by Henry Hughes.  Bryan Collins answered for the Americans on fine passing by Timmy McQuade and Alex Korol.  Mike Watts added two more goals both on set ups by Ryan Oswald to put the Phantoms up comfortably 13-9.  Andrew Gateson shut the door from then on in net for the Americans.

       Bryan Collins pumped in two goals for the Americans to cut the lead 13-11.  With nine seconds left, Timmy McQuade cut the lead to one but Dave Siebold held out for those final seconds as the Phantoms won 13-12.

       The V & A Gourmet Deli Monarchs went up against the Ciro’s Pizzeria Sound Tigers.  The Sound Tigers webt up 2-0 on a power play goal by Joe Penteck and a fine backhand by Kevin White.  Anthony Zlata brought it out of his end, passed over to Tyler Perge, whose shot was tipped in by Kevin Dunbar to put the Monarchs on the board.  Joseph Tholl had 22 saves for the Monarchs.

       The Sound Tigers answered with goals by Sean Greene and Matt Watts, both on fine passes by Joe Penteck.  Ciro’s held on with fine goaltending by Desmond Zantua in a 4-1 victory.

       In the PeeWee Division, The North Fork Bank Bulldogs and the Gebhardt’s Bandits displayed excellent sportsmanship.  Jocelyn Penteck had assisted on a goal by Matt Szala and as she approached the face off, Chris St. Clair acknowledged her fine effort with a high five.  The score was 2-2 but Matt Szala added three more goals and Alex Meisel and Paul Doherty added one for the Bulldogs.  Patrick Schmid added a blast for the Bandits but the Bulldogs prevailed 7-2.  (Correction: Bulldogs were up 2-0 when Chris St. Clair of the Bandits scored making it 2-1, Jocelyn Penteck gave Chris a high five on his goal)

       The DePhillips Ducks battled the Red Door Real Estate Barons.  Logan Pietroforte sparked the Ducks scoring three goals, Peter Shevlin added two and Timmy Conway and Ryan Glynn added another.  Kevin Troy was solid in goal for the Barons, Adam Cieslewicz and Timmy Drake had a pair of goals for the Barons.  Patrick Lynn was too tough in goal for the Ducks, who won 7-4.

       The Carriage Trade Insurance River Rats went up against the North Fork Bank Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs went up 4-0 on goals by Jason Doyle, Paul Doherty and two by Matt Szala.  Scott Naab had an awesome backhand and Conall Ryan’s slapshot were all the River Rats could get by Dominick Roberge.  Kevin Dunn had 30 saves for the River Rats but the Bulldogs won 5-2.

       In the Bantams Division, First and Second Place went chest to chest.  The Equipment Room Flames got on the board first with a goal by James D’Amico set up by Brandon Franklin.  The L. I. Checker Cab Pirates roared back.  Patrick O’Grady scored a hat trick and Andrew Setaro was making incredible saves for the Pirates.  The Flames bounced back as Garrett Conti found the five hole.  Down 4-2, Drew Viscusi pumped in two goals to tie the score at 4.  Mike Ost stayed sharp despite the distractions of Deb Hesse and Gina Setaro delaying the game by throwing donuts on the rink.  The game ended, despite overtime, in a 4-4 tie.

       In the Squirts, The Commerce Bank Robins played the Allstate Crunch.  Logan Pietroforte tipped in an Abigale O’Connor blast to put the Robins up 1-0.  Jason Reed lit up the nets for four goals and Joseph Buonocore added another for the Crunch.  Thomas Sullivan had 20 saves for the Robins but the Crunch prevailed with John Ryan in goal 5-2.
