Jan. 11th, 2006 Gateway Article The TNT Liquidators Falcons played the Allstate Insurance Crunch. Jason Reed put the Crunch on the board on a fine pass by James Monahan. Jason Scheer answered for the Falcons on a nice set up by Matt Sweeney and Kyle Marzalkiewicz. Vincenzo Capezza, without help from Karen, passed to J.T. Meighan who shot the puck which was tipped in for a goal by Matt Sweeney for the Falcons. Young John Ryan was solid in goal for the Crunch. Joseph Buonocore scored on a pass by Jason Reed to tie the score at 2. Jason Scheer came up large for the Falcons as he one timed a pass by Matt Sweeney for a goal for the Crunch as Nicholas Donohue stopped everything in net for a 3-2 Crunch win. The Commerce Bank Robins played the Associated Wolves. Adam Su got an unassisted goal to put the Wolves up. Anthony Calo answered with two goals for the Robins on fine passing by Logan Pietroforte and William Ost. Adam Su tipped in a Thomas Connors blast to tie the score. Logan Pietroforte lit up the score board for three straight goals. Abigale O’Connor and John Clune set up one each and William Ost did an end to end to set up the other. Thomas Sullivan had 10 saves for the Robins and Nicholas Felicetti had 16 for the Wolves, but the Robins prevailed 5-2. In the Bantam Division, the L.I. Checker Cab Pirates played the Floral Park P.B.A. Wolfpack. Kevin McCarthy continued his high scoring in tallying five goals along with three assists for the Pirates. Patrick O’Grady added two goals and three assists for the Pirates. Despite distractions from their opponents, Andrew Setaro had 30 saves for the Pirates. Michael Tangredi had two goals and Ryan Grant added another on fine passing by Grace Mulhall and Steven Prizzi. Kevin Konzelman had an unheard of 51 saves for the Wolfpack, which lost 8-3. In the Peewee Division, the Carriage Trade Insurance Agency River Rats played DePhillips Sports Ducks. Timmy Conway scored to put the Ducks on the scoreboard. Andrew Prizzi was set up by Terence Guidal to put the Ducks up by two. Scott Naab scored short handed and Dylan King tipped in a Zach Chilelli shot for the River Rats to tie the score. Conall Ryan set up Scott Naab to put the River Rats up. Kevin Dunn had 26 saves for the River Rats. Timmy Conway completed his hat trick and Patrick Lynn shut the door for the River Rats to tie the score at 4. The North Fork Bank Bulldogs played the Red Door Real Estate Barons. Matt Szala scored on a pass by Jason Doyle for the Bulldogs. Adam Cieslewicz tipped in a Timmy Drake blast to tie the score for the Barons. Paul Doherty answered on fine passing by Jocelyn Penteck and Matt Szala to put the Bulldogs up 2-1. Michael Meegan put in a Timmy Drake pass for the Barons. Matt Szala back handed a pass by Jocelyn Penteck for the Bulldogs. Michael Meegan scored again for the Barons on a fine pass by Timmy Drake. Kevin Troy had 27 saves for the Barons. Paul Doherty and Jason Doyle scored for the Bulldogs and Michael Meegan completed the hat trick but the Dominator, Dominick Roberge, was too tough in goal as the Bulldogs prevailed 5-4.
