Thanks again for all your good
"training" He has a good grasp on the game already b/c of his season with FP.

Hi there!
How's the season going? Jack is doing very
well with ice hockey. he's come such a long way with his skating & managing
to actually play the game while skating :) he actually won a goal-shooting
drill @ practice the other night.
he tried goalie @ a practice
& really did well for his first shot @ it. He's one of the youngest so
he's trying so hard to keep up. he does talk about roller hockey and
misses it sometimes. He had a much easier time on the rollerblades
:)
He's playing @ the Pepsi Arena (the capital
district's Nassau Coliseum) in February during intermission of a River Rats
game.
(We were in Floral Park last week &
I encouraged a family friend to bring her 7yr old boy over to see a game and
possibly sign up. )
Jack keep up the good work and
continue to stay in touch with us! (click on picture to enlarge)

Troop 4 won first place Saturday in Shelter Rock District’s Boy Scout Klondike Derby. Pictured (r-l) Scoutmaster Ralph Ratto, Daniel Ratto, Committee Chair Bob Schmid, Patrol Leader, Steven LaMont, Assistant Scoutmaster Rob Schmid, Tom Fangmann, Eric Schmid, Travel Coordinator Dan Fangmann, (seated) Justin Solly, Michael Tursi, and Brian Fangmann. The Klondike Derby is a Boy Scout Winter
Skills event, held every winter in the snow where Boy Scout Troops and Boy
Scout Patrols compete against each other. Boys are divided into patrols and
each patrol uses a Dog Type sled that uses Scout power to pull it instead of
dogs. The Scouts pull the sleds that are loaded with their personal and patrol
equipment. The Scouts journey through woods and fields, up and down hills and
stop at different activity stations (sometimes named after Alaskan towns)
where they are tested on different Scout skills. The Scouts have to use a map
and compass to navigate themselves and their sleds to their destinations (each
activity station). When they arrive at these stations they are timed and
tested on their Scouting knowledge, their team work and their problem solving
skills. Congratulations Tommy, Justin and
Michael!
